Scent is something I haven’t addressed much as it’s so personal and although I own and dabble in a few there’s really only one I consider ‘mine’, Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille.
This isn’t one of those sweet summery-scents, this is a creamy, grown up, sophisticated vanilla scent with a slight woody twist. It’s so unique and isn’t like anything else I’ve ever smelt, which is something I look for in a perfume, and I’m yet to find anything else close. What a scent should do for me is make me feel a certain way like uplifted, calm or mellow. This is where I’ve gone through three bottles of the stuff, the way it makes me feel, which is something I can’t easily put into words and although ‘good’ is the worst descriptive word of all time that’s just the way it makes me feel, but in this case it’s pronounced goooo-ooood.
There’s a hefty price tag on the one but the stuff is so concentrated a couple of spritz’s last all day on the skin plus it tends to rake in the compliments which I’m not complaining about! If you’re a vanilla lover and are after something less girly and more sophisticated look this way, it’s £69 here.
